Gear We Run
The boards, motors, coolers and bits of kit we actually use and trust — from the catamaran hull at the heart of every build to the little things that make a day on the water easier. LIVE Watersports
The only fiberglass catamaran paddle board in the world — the hull under every build. They’re handmade in Clearwater, Florida; these aren’t molded and they aren’t shipped in.
Suspenz
Dolly and transport questions are what we get asked most. The beach tires swap for plastic ones, so one cart covers roadside, sand and the woods — and you can leave it on and roll the board straight off your truck extender.
Minn Kota
We put together a 12-volt, 55 lb-thrust kit after MotorGuide went out of business and Rhodan dropped 12V shafts. Five mph minimum, eight if you use the wind and current. Shaft cut, quick-connects sealed, ready to bolt on.
Power Pole
The Micro Anchor. You’re running 15 mph, spot a school 50 yards off and need to stop right there — pull a manual spike instead and you’ve made noise and the fish are gone. You hit a button and you’re casting.
ePropulsion
Our electric option. Every brand came after us; we went with these because you aren’t locked into their batteries, so you can save money. We’ve run the 6 kW — about a 9 hp equivalent — and been more than impressed.
Hella Dry
Took a beating all week in the Bahamas — flies, cutters, phone, spare water, everything stayed dry. It sits upright at 20 mph and I’ve never once looked back to check it was still there.
Rugged Road
A 9 lb cooler instead of a 20 or 40 lb one — on a board where every pound counts, that’s the difference. Floats upright, reversible lid, and it doubles as the seat and the casting platform. (Code SUP10.)
Salt Strong
Luke’s an old friend and he fishes with us — he went from an L2 with a two and a half to an L4 with a six. Their tweaker baits have pulled plenty of our reds off the bottom.
Soft SUP Fin
The soft, no-tool surf fin we run on the boards. It flexes instead of snapping when you touch bottom in skinny water, and screws on by hand — cheap to keep spares.
RailBlaza
Texas-based, and their captain’s bridge is a perfect fit for our electronic builds — and a whole lot more. We met them at iCast chasing companies that help us push the boundaries.
Turtlebox
Waterproof speakers that survive a boat. IP-67 against water, drops and crush, and two of them will pair up for stereo. The brand we tag more than any other.
