Owners Meetup Day and Trolling Motor Cord Setup Option

Everyone, David SUP Customs here at our fifth or sixth meetup, owners meet up, here on the nature coast. So, going to finish up the winter on the nature coast because these fish are miles back in creeks. It's pretty fun to get to them when no one else can. And then the spring, summer, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, we're we're eyeing a bunch of locations to chase them down when when they're really running on that spring run. But you got time right now to get your skiff, get it built. It doesn't have to be a full skiff.

Just buy the board from SUP Customs and throw a trolling motor even on it and you can join any of these meetings. We're going to have fun January 30th. So little bit about this video is I mentioned the 24volt trolling motor I went with to play with because we do have a lot of customers now running 24s Power-Pole moves even a 36 volt. So, if you're going to do it, I'm going to get into the game, too, and be able to to suggest it. And it's a lot more dangerous with this power. Wednesday, when we had that tunein day for the customer, and we had Jordan and Austin prefish for y'all.

The the attendees, I ran this 24 volt off a 12 volt. So, I have a 24volt coming in for me. You see our like I told you before, our quick release system. But when you buy the trolling motor, you have the quick release system here. So what you'll have is the waterproof quick release system connected to your motor, but then you'll have a 12 in run when you want to keep the battery on the front or like me, I like all my weight to the back simply so I can I don't really have an issue, but it's just more deck space. I hate to be cluttered, like I've said in old videos, and I really hate to sit so low that every time I stand up, it it's like I don't know.

I'm not saying I'm old, but it's just you're standing and walking around on this all day long and you're standing on coolers and sight fishing. I don't know. Just sitting so low. And because of our catamaran stability and suction bubble, we can sit higher and not be unstable and stand on coolers compared to if you see a lot of vessels to where man they have a six on it and they're scooting but they're sitting just three four inches off the ground. It's because of stability. They can't really run that fast and that high on a V hole.

So anyways but you'll see my setup. This is just a little $10 extension cord hider that works perfect on the board. And then you get this other piece with us. And you can make these yourself if you have your own trolling motor or buying your own trolling motor. All the holes on our plates are pre-drilled. So you just put your puck. You don't have to drill into anything. But I run it back here and then it comes out. Now I'm just playing around right now with our $200 Golden Mate we recommend and sell. I have little 20 amp Golden Mates right here that I usually keep in my cooler and and I keep them just as a backup.

I've never really drained a 100. I've drained a 60 amp before, but I've never really drained a 100 when I'm doing trolling motor only all day. But I just hooked up my backup batteries to get me home together to to make me a 24. So, I ran it last week a 24 volt on a 12 and I got about same 55 lb thrust 5 miles per hour. I'm hoping to get around 8 miles per hour with this 24. So, I'll report to you so you know what to get. But, we do recommend a 12 for mo most people. But if you're tournament fishing and you need to beat the pack, you need to be faster with the bottom coating, the catamaran design, you're flying.

I have people winning bass tournaments simply because they get to the bass ground so much faster than the 160lb vessels. So 65 lbs cat hole, no water resistance hardly, you're there. So I'll report to you, but I wanted to show you how we hide the cord. You can also run it underneath the hole because we do have a nice gap underneath. But this just works perfect for me. It's just in reach all the time. It never goes anywhere. You can peel it up. You have your cord in there and it just works absolutely perfect. And you can keep your handle and all that.
