How Our Motor Mounts Attach to a SUP Customs Build? Easier Than You Think
What I cover in this video
- A gentleman drove down from North Carolina for his tune-in day and we ran the Nature Coast for eight hours.
- The mounts are just regular T-bolts — we sell them with the brass inserts. Take them off and it's a paddle board again.
- The front plate holds an animal, a dog, or a second person's chair, and it doubles as a splash pad, especially on the L2.
- All the holes are already in the plate, so a Minn Kota or a $700 Haswing will both fit it.
- Those vents are how LIVE gets the 700 lb capacity — high-tech foam and air space. Leave them half open while you travel.

All right, everyone. David's SUP Customs here and I'm just finishing awesome tune-in day for a gentleman that drove from North Carolina. Picked up his board and we went out all day, tuned him in. Got him all Got him all set up. Obviously, we'll drive him to you, but there's a lot of people like make the drive down, go on a nature coast for 8 hours. We had a lot of opportunities today for red fish and snook and jack and cobia cobia aren't here yet, but all tune-in days in May, June, we're going to have a lot of cobia on the flats opportunities, so have some fun, tune-in people.
So, I get a lot of questions about how our mounts go on. So, the gentleman that just came, we showed up with his paddle board ready, mounts on, ready to roll, trolling motor on, battery, all that. But when he left, we took it all off, he put on top of his roof and his his accessories in the back and if you want to do that, take these off and the back plate works the same way. You just got these bolts right here. These are just regular T-bolts. YakAttack, all brands all sell and they all sell. I like the brass, we sell them with the brass inserts.
Now, I'm going to do three more here. And then, take these off. Now, this plate front plate will hold an animal, a dog, second person could put a chair here, put their feet here. This plate also serves as a good splash pad, especially on the L2 where you do get really wet if you're motoring. Gentleman today bought the back motor mount in the in the micro pole in the back, but he's going to start off with just a trolling motor. He got the Minn Kota. But you can get anything. You can get the $700 Haswing, you can get anything.
It'll fit this plate. All the holes are already in it. So, that's it. All the protective coating on the bottom goes on right there. You can see mine hasn't been off in a long time. And then, these are your T-bolts right here. Just slide right out. And if I did the same thing to the back plate, well, now you got a awesome paddle board paddle around, to exercise, to take out on family beach days. Just a phenomenal paddle board. So, that's just basically how motor mounts go on. Just simple T-bolts, nuts, same thing with all the fishing equipment and paddle holders.
Same thing with everything. Just come on. These two I get asked about. These are vents and how we're able to LIVE Watersports is able to get the 700-lb weight capacity is they're able to use extremely high-tech foam and then they get that all that air space to get that buoyancy. But then, because in the heat air expands, you just have these vents. You just leave them open while you travel, while it's in the sun. Basically, you just leave them halfway open at all times and then when you're ready to to hit the water, you close them.
So, right now, I'm just going to leave one leave one half open and I'm good to go. I don't know how much easier it is to get a catamaran, the only catamaran paddle board with suction hole technology that locks you down that can go 20 mph or just be a beast trolling motor set up with this easy of work and this versatile with this many applications. I don't know. We found LIVE Watersports years ago, awesome as customers, we turned them into these and we created SUP Customs for a reason and we only sell one brand for a reason.
